In conversation with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, Deputy Prime Minister of so-called Kosovo Besnik Bislimi announced that after local elections in Kosovo and Metohija, "the Kosovo government will continue with the actions" like the one seen on October 13 when Kosovo special police entered, among other places, North Mitrovica and Zvecan, Kosovo Kosovo Online has learned from well-informed diplomatic circles.

The said conversation took place on the very day of the incident - October 13, and Bislimi stated at the time that "the Kosovo government will continue to fight crime in the entire territory of Kosovo."

Srecko Sofronic was shot and seriously wounded that day, and the Kosovo police, in addition to tear gas and stun grenades, also used live ammunition. This is when the young Serb from Zvecan was wounded and transferred from KBC Kosovska Mitrovica and later to the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade.

That is why Borrell himself spoke at the time, saying that "the violent incidents in the north of Kosovo need to stop immediately" adding that all open issues must be resolved through dialogue.

"The violent incidents in the north of Kosovo need to stop immediately. Unilateral and uncoordinated actions that endanger stability are unacceptable. All open issues must be addressed through the EU-facilitated dialogue. We are in contact with Belgrade and Pristina," Borrell wrote on Twitter at the time.

The EU foreign policy also spoke yesterday, stating that he called on President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti to "return to where it is possible to continue the dialogue in Brussels" after the rising tensions.
