The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade will hand over to Denmark the criminal prosecution of a citizen of Denmark, Sulejman Imamovic, 58, who two days ago shouted insults and threats while traveling on a plane, because the aircraft had to make an emergency landing at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport.

Imamovic, who was previously questioned in the prosecutor's office, has been released, the prosecutor's office told Tanjug.

The case will be handed over to the Kingdom of Denmark for further proceedings, bearing in mind that this is a person who is a Danish citizen and that in that way the principle of expediency and economy of procedure will be respected, the prosecution noted.

The incident occurred around midnight on December 28 on a Wizz Air plane traveling on the Billund (Denmark)-Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina) route, which was forced to land at the Belgrade airport.

Imamovic is charged with committing criminal acts of racial and other discrimination and endangering the safety of air or sea traffic or a fixed platform.
