Danilo Stojanovic, a police officer who fled Serbia a few hours before Darko Saric was arrested, entered Montenegro on April 14, the Police Administration of the neighboring country announced. Yesterday, according to the local Ministry of the Interior, he again managed to dodge the police by fleeing to Albania on foot.

According to Vijesti, the police said that yesterday at around 9:30 am at the Grncar border crossing, at the exit from Montenegro, the border police inspected vehicles with Montenegrin license plates driven by V.R. (43), in which Stojanovic was a codriver, who had Serbian documents.

"After inspecting the personal documents, the police officers directed the vehicle to the second lane of the border check, after which D.S. got out of the vehicle and fled. Previously, D.S. on April 14 entered Montenegro from the direction of the Republic of Serbia, at the Dracenovac border crossing. We note that at the time of the control of this person, at the entrance to Montenegro on April 14 and at the exit from Montenegro on April 17, no international arrest warrant had been issued for him," the Montenegrin police said in a statement.

According to the daily, the police also said that after registering Stojanovic's entry to Montenegro, they informed the competent authorities of Serbia about it.

Danilo Stojanovic and Milutin Radovanovic fled Serbia two hours before their colleagues broke into their apartments to arrest them on suspicion that they were a part of Darko Saric's criminal clan.

They crossed the border between Serbia and Montenegro at around 3:30 am.

The two found themselves in the media spotlight in February. They were detained at the time on suspicion of attacking and beating a colleague who works for Interpol, M.V., on Cvetni Square in the center of Belgrade, after which proceedings were initiated against them in the First Basic Prosecutor's Office.
