SNS Presidency member Goran Vesic said that with today's election of the President of the National Assembly and the deputy president, the constitution of the parliament is completed, which creates conditions for the president of the Republic to nominate a candidate to form Serbia's new government.

"The president will propose a person who can respond to the difficult tasks that await the new government," said Vesic.

He stressed that one of the most important tasks of the new government is to continue implementing the policy regarding Kosovo and Metohija, to preserve the southern province and to talk with the Albanians.

"We will continue to develop Open Balkan and improve cooperation with the countries and peoples of the Balkans," said Vesic and noted that due to the war in Ukraine, Europe is facing a major crisis.

"We have prepared better than others, the president secured new gas storage capacities in Hungary, the gas storage in Banatski Dvor has also been reconstructed. I don't know what would have happened now if we hadn't built the Balkan Stream in time, for which many criticized us. We have also provided enough food, we will certainly fare better in this crisis than others when it comes to protecting the population," said Vesic.

Stating that Serbia is part of one market, Vesic said that, unfortunately, it cannot fully protect itself from inflation and problems coming from Europe.

"We made sure in time to prepare to overcome it with as few consequences as possible," said Vesic and added that the new government must be ready to react to daily challenges, and be made up of experienced people who do not run away from problems but solve them and who do not shy away from work.

"In any case, the government will continue the policy of Aleksandar Vucic, and it faces difficult challenges. He will have to ensure economic security, protect the standards of living, energy security and, most importantly, ensure peace," concluded Vesic.
