Horrific scenes from accident site involving vehicle from Serbia: Car crushed, SUV stranded on fence

A traffic accident that happened today on a highway in Croatia near Zagreb has resulted in one person dying, while seven people have been rushed to the hospital.

The accident involving three vehicles, including one from Serbia, happened around 10:30 am.

According to information released by director of the District Institute of Emergency Medicine Perica Vucelic,, several ambulance crews took care of the victims and brought seven injured people to the Karlovac General Hospital, while the extent of their injuries will be known after medical examinations, reports Index.

An investigation was underway at the scene of the accident, and traffic in the direction of Zagreb was halted, causing a kilometers-long line of vehicles to form.

Photos and videos from the site of the accident show gruesome scenes. Due to the force of the impact, one vehicle ended up on the fence dividing the highway, while another car ended up crushed in the stop lane. A third flew off outside the highway.

At this time is not known how this tragic accident happened.
