Belgrade was visited by almost 600,000 tourists in 7 months - double the number compared to last year

In the first seven months of this year, a total of 592,827 tourists visited Belgrade, which is twice the number reported for the same period of last year. 484,092 of these were visitors from abroad. The total number of overnight stays in Belgrade in this period was 1,635,192, 64% up on 2021.

In July alone, 122,491 tourists came to Belgrade (an increase of 45% compared to July 2021), of which 107,213 (+53%) were foreigners. The number of overnight stays in July in Belgrade was 314,485, of which 270,934 by foreign guests. Among the most numerous tourists in July were Turks, Germans, Russians, Indians and Romanians.

The majority of tourists since the beginning of the year have come from Russia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and Croatia, while the largest number of overnight stays was by Russians and Turks, followed by guests from Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina and India.

"The increase in the number of tourists in Belgrade has been about 350,000 per month, which is above average. Between 80% and 85% of tourists in Belgrade are foreign guests. The key word for a rapid recovery and growth of tourism in Belgrade is trust, and the ability to adapt to challenges, thanks to which tourists come to Belgrade from all over the world, in the largest number from those countries from which trips are easily realized, since accessibility of a destination is a basic prerequisite for good results in tourism," said Miodrag Popovic, director of the Tourism Organization of Belgrade (TOB).
