Aerial view: See how construction of the Danube Corridor is progressing

This road is of strategic importance for eastern Serbia

  • 0

Minister of Construction Tomislav Momirovic said earlier this summer that the Danube Corridor represents a new perspective for all citizens in eastern Serbia.

The works on the construction of the Pozarevac-Golubac high-speed road started on November 5, 2021, and now you can see how the construction is progressing.

The plan includes the implementation of the project in three sections, where the third is the longest and represents a newly planned route of the state road, which bypasses construction areas, settlements and takes over transit traffic and the category of an IB order state road, while the existing road is retained and allows traffic towards, and inside settlements.

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stressed that - once the project is finished in 2024 - citizens will be able to get from Belgrade to Veliko Gradiste in less than an hour, and to Golubac in 70 to 75 minutes.

The total length of the Pozarevac-Golubac expressway is 68 kilometers, and the project is worth 305 million euros.

Chinese company China Shandong International has been awarded the contract to build the road.
