The head of Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dacic, said today that the masks need to slip and that we should see whether the Brussels agreement exists or not. If the US and the EU cannot handle Albin Kurti, then that is either about their impotence, or their tacit approval, Dacic stressed.

Said recalled that he signed the Brussels Agreement when he was Serbia's prime minister.

"We need to see, after nine years of refusing to form the ZSO, whether someone is thinking of implementing the Brussels agreement, because that's why we signed it," Dacic said on RTS.

According to him, Serbia is not a party to a conflict, Serbia is fighting to protect the Brussels agreement.

When asked if the West will be able to put pressure on Pristina, the head of Serbian diplomacy said that he does not know if they can put pressure on Pristina, but that no one in Serbia believes that they cannot do that.

"If the US and the EU cannot handle Albin Kurti, then that is either about their impotence, or their tacit approval," said Dacic.

The Serbian minister of foreign affairs told the European Union that it is also their obligation to form the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) in Kosovo and Metohija.

"It is also their obligation to form the ZSO, not just Kurti's. Catherine Ashton signed it, if that doesn't stand, then you tricked me, too," noted Dacic.

Commenting on the decision of the Serbs to leave Kosovo institutions, Dacic said that this is a historic decision, and that he supports it.

"We should not be explaining ourselves, whether it was made in agreement with Belgrade or not. The whole world should be able to make decisions about Kosovo, but Belgrade should not? This is a decision of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," said the foreign minister.

He added that Pristina thinks that it has anesthetized the Serbs and that they are just about to accept its independence. Speaking about the police officers from the north of Kosovo and Metohija taking off their uniforms, he said that no one from Pristina was ever in the institutions in the north, neither police officers, judges, nor prosecutors, and that the agreement was that those should be Serbs, but if the ZSO is formed - if not, the Serbs must look for another way to organize.

"We would like this situation to last as short as possible. We will do everything to preserve the peace, to protest peacefully, this is a kind of resistance because Pristina is not forming the ZSO," explained Dacic.

He noted that it is necessary to respect UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

"There is no more wiggle room, either they will act in accordance with Resolution 1244 or they will say openly that they are on the side of Pristina, these are the times when they will have to say it clearly. The historic pendulum is swinging. All the forms of resistance that the Albanians used toward the Serbian government, now the Serbs are using toward the Albanian government (in Pristina)," noted Dacic.

He wondered what Pristina needs the Serbs for in its institutions if it does not want to work with them.

"They say Ukraine, Spain... have rights in their entire territory, only Serbia does not have those rights. If you don't have an explanation, don't be irritating the Serb people. It's well known what Pristina and the EU need to do in order for the Serbs to return to the institutions," stressed Dacic.

Commenting on the possibility of Pristina applying for EU membership, he said that they can do that.

"They want to drive the EU out in the open to vote in favor of that. It's a move with no chance of succeeding because five EU countries do not recognize Kosovo as independent," said Dacic, but also added that he is approaching the issue in a serious manner, so he has scheduled several meetings in this regard.
