Tensions in Kosovo and Metohija have intensified in the previous period despite appeals from the United States and the European Union, which called on Albin Kurti several times to postpone the implementation of the decision on license plates, but also to respect the Brussels Agreement.

After yesterday's failed negotiations in Brussels, a video appeared on social networks accusing Kurti of calling for war.

The video states that Kurti has destroyed peace and threatened stability, as well as that he wants war, and at the end calls on Europe to stop him.

Kurti announced last night that he "accepts the request of the US" and will postpones for 48 hours the implementation of the measure to punish drivers with Serbian license plates.

Meanwhile, the director of the office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said today that it turned out that Albin Kurti does not want dialogue and that for the first time it was heard crystal clear from the EU representative that Kurti was the sole culprit for the collapse of yesterday's negotiations, which is something stated by Josep Borrell.

Petkovic assessed as positive that the international community understood the request of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, to increase pressure on Pristina in order to stop the "insane decisions."

He said that President Vucic was negotiating for more than seven hours yesterday in Brussels.

"From the very beginning it was clear that Kurti did not want to negotiate, that he was not interested in preserving peace and stability." said Petkovic.

He stressed that the situation was tense. The Serbs in the north do not want to change the Serbian plates with the acronyms of the cities in Kosovo and Metohija, because, they say, it is one of their last links with central Serbia.

That is why, but also because of Pristina's refusal to implement the Brussels Agreement and form the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO), two weeks ago they left Pristina's institutions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija as well, including more than 500 police officers.
