The best Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, said today that he hopes to be able to play at the Masters in Indian Wells and Miami, Australian media reported.

Djokovic is currently in Australia where he is playing at the ATP tournament in Adelaide. He qualified for the quarterfinals after defeating the Frenchman Quentin Allis 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-5) this morning. The Serbian athlete will later play at the Australian Open in Melbourne, January 16-29.

At a press conference, Djokovic answered journalists' questions, who reminded him that he could miss the tournaments in the US since he is not vaccinated against Covid.

"I saw it, but I don't think it's official yet, so when it is then we'll talk about it," Djokovic said.

Journalists reminded the Serbian tennis player of the decision of the US authorities, who extended until April the obligation of vaccination for foreign citizens entering the country.

"If that's official, then that's it, what can I do? You know my stance, it is what it is. I hope I can play, but if I can't go, there's nothing I can do," Djokovic said.

The Masters in Indian Wells will be played from March 6 to 19, and in Miami from March 22 to April 2.
