Cousins Stefan Stojanovic (11) and Milos Stojanovic (21), who were wounded last Friday on Christmas Eve in Gotovusa near Strpce, when Albanian Azem Kurtaji shot at them, are in a stable condition and the director of KBC Pristina based in Gracanica tells Telegraf.rs that it is satisfactory.

"We will see how it will develop further, but currently their health condition is satisfactory," Professor Dr. Lazic told our portal.

He said that it is not yet known when they will be released home. According to the doctor, one of the wounded youths will most likely have to stay longer, but nothing can be specified for now.

"All those decisions are made in accordance with their current health report. The most important thing is that they are doing well," said Professor Lazic.

At the time of the attack, Stefan and Milos were walking by the side of the road and a badnjak, an oak branch that is part of Serbian Orthodox Christmas traditions. The boys were shot by the assailant, one in the hand and the other in the shoulder, and only by sheer luck were they not killed or seriously injured.

The Basic Court in Urosevac yesterday ordered Azem Kurtaj, who is suspected of shooting the two young Serbs in Gotovusa near Strpce, to be detained for one month, reports Koha.

The court's announcement states that the judge for the preliminary proceedings of the Department for Serious Criminal Offenses assessed that there is suspicion that Azem Kurtaj deliberately tried to kill Stefan and Milos Stojanovic, reports Tanjug.

"When he arrived at the entrance to the village in his car, he noticed some citizens at the end of the road and to chase them away, he honked his horn. Unable to continue, he stopped the car and after a verbal argument, he took out a pistol and shot twice, injuring a boy and a young man. They were first sent to the Health Center in Strpce, and then to the hospital in Gracanica," the court's announcement states.

Also, it is known that, contrary to the law on weapons in Kosovo, the suspect used a weapon without a permit.
