The Chinese Lantern Festival will shine again and make many children and adults happy. From January 21 to February 5, light lanterns will arrive in Liman Park in Novi Sad and to the Sava Promenade in front of Galerija Belgrade, which will celebrate the Chinese New Year in Serbia for the fifth year.

The events are taking place at the initiative of Serbian artist Slobodan Trkulja, who has for years worked on cultural exchange between China and Serbia.

Trkulja, the creative ambassador of Serbia, along with the band Balkanopolis enjoys exceptional popularity in this most populous country in the world, and a few days ago they returned from the Netherlands, where they held nine very successful concerts, with a symphony orchestra.

The light spectacle, meanwhile, has been created by one of the world's leading companies manufacturing artistic lanterns - Zigong Haitian from China.

This year, the festival will also shine with various installations that represent the spirit of tradition and symbolism of ancient China, such as the animal kingdom, dragons, magical deer, strange fish, African animals...

The Chinese Lantern Festival starts on January 21 in Novi Sad and Belgrade. Admission in both cities is free of charge.

For visitors in Belgrade, in Galerija Belgrade entrance number 5, each weekend until February 5 at 5 pm, a traditional Chinese ceremony of making and preparing tea will be held, during which aromatic Chinese teas will be served, while on the first day of the festival visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the course of making traditional Chinese dumplings.

In Novi Sad, visitors will also enjoy additional content, because the stands with traditional Chinese food and souvenirs will be set up in Liman Park.

"I am proud and happy that this festival has become traditional and that for the fifth year in a row we have managed to show the beauty of the Chinese tradition in this way, and bring a little light and joy into everyday life. Light lanterns are enjoyed by all generations, they are equally interesting to children and the elderly," Trkulja said with a smile, adding:

"Each year, a large attendance has been recorded, and I believe that it will be the same this time as well. Take a stroll with your loved ones along the Sava Promenade to Galerija, look around, enjoy and feel free to take photos!"
