Serbia is "on fire": Here are the hottest towns as of 15:00, one is close to forecast maximum

Cuprija is currently the hottest town in Serbia, with 38 degrees Celsius measured at 3 pm, according to data from the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RMZ).

It is followed by Novi Sad, Kikinda, Backi Karlovci, Sremska Mitrovica, Smederevska Palanka, Negotin and Kraljevo with temperatures of 37 degrees, while it was 36 degrees in Belgrade at 3 pm.

The coolest place in Serbia was Mt. Kopaonik, with a pleasant 26 degrees.

Although the highest temperature was measured in Cuprija, according to RHMZ data, the highest temperature according to subjective feeling was recorded in Novi Sad, with a record 43.

Judging by that parameter, this has been a tropical day in Backi Karlovci with 42 degrees as well, but also Negotin with 41.

Although the thermometer scale has not yet reached the hottest point announced for today, citizens are sharing different information on social networks. According to their claims, the subjective feeling is that it is much hotter on the road, and some even shared photos from their cars where the thermometer shows an incredible 50 degrees Celsius.

In Serbia, the RHMZ high temperature warning is in effect until July 19.

Today, a red weather alert is in effect throughout Serbia, which indicates very dangerous weather.

According to the RHMZ forecast, it will be very warm in Serbia until Wednesday with maximum temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius, locally up to 40 degrees.

"Tropical nights" are also expected in big cities, that is, the temperature will never drop below 20 degrees Celsius throughout the night.

It will also be very warm in Belgrade until Wednesday, with maximum temperatures of 36 to 39 degrees Celsius, along with "tropical nights."
