Orban pens letter of support to Vucic: Keep going, Mr. President

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has sent a letter of support to Serbian President Akeksandr Vucic, in which he told him that Serbia has traveled a fantastic path of development during Vucic's terms first as prime minister, and then as president, and that he is not surprised that citizens of Serbia regularly reward him with their trust.

As he said, Vucic's economic results deserve recognition, the image of Serbia in the world today is completely different than before, while a responsible, sovereign policy has gained recognition and respect around the world.

Orban added that countless times he was able to see for himself Vucic's decisive and effective actions taken for the sake of the Serbian national interest.

"It is no wonder that the citizens of Serbia regularly reward you with their trust, because your country is developing spectacularly every day, and we can always assure ourselves of this during our visits: we see highways, railways, hospitals, clinics, stadiums that are being built one after another. We, from here in the neighborhood, are cheering in favor of continuing to write our joint success story after the (Serbian) parliamentary elections. A success story that not only makes our countries even more successful, but gives new momentum to the entire European Union, which also needs the energetic, fast-growing, ambitious Serbia. Just keep going, Mr. President," Orban wrote in a letter that Tanjug has seen.

At the same time, Orban expressed great gratitude of the Hungarian people for all the efforts made during the past years in order to develop relations between the two countries and the two nations.

According to him, it is no exaggeration to claim that cooperation between Serbia and Hungary has become a real success story today, adding that he is honored to be able to personally work with Vucic "during the writing of the new chapters of that success story."

"Our relations have traveled such an extraordinary path during the last decade, which we can confidently offer to the whole world as proof that it really is possible to transform a relationship, complicated by many historical adversities, into a friendship and a strategic alliance. I am convinced that with this joint work of ours we served, and continue to serve the interests of our peoples and citizens to this day," Orban stressed.
