A Serbian government plane that President Aleksandar Vucic is traveling on, has taken off from Baku at around 14:10 Serbian time, Telegraf has learned.

According to the Flightradar website, the plane is heading for Moscow.

Earlier in the day, Vucic was on his way to the the Russian capital where he will attend Victory Day events, and will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But the plane had to make an emergency landing in Azerbaijan because of combat operations, in the context of the war in Ukraine.

Reports said that the plane had to land due to security risks - including air defense systems' activity and the possibility of interception in the conflict zone!

The flight to Moscow was declared unsafe and the presidential delegation was stopped in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

The flight has now resumed and Vucic is expected in Moscow at around 16:00 Serbian time.
