Don't go swimming in Ada Ciganlija, it's not safe! The lake is not yet ready for the season

Dragan Kerkez from the Association of Lifeguards of Serbia has told RTS that Ada Ciganlija (Lake Sava in Belgrade) is still not ready for swimmers.
He added that the plan is to open the season at the end of June.
The hottest day of this week is ahead of us, with temperatures of up to 36 degrees Celsius. Many Belgraders will escape the heat by heading to the rivers, lakes, or swimming pools.
As pleasant as it is to cool off in the water, it can also be dangerous since the swimming season has not started.
"The season has not started because the conditions for safe swimming have not yet been created. The basic condition is to swim only in the designated areas. At this moment, Ada Ciganlija is not fit for swimming, and the second all the conditions have been met, the public company Ada Ciganlija will declare the start of the season - that means the presence of stewards, lifeguards, and all the other elements that make a season safe," explained Kerkez.
He stressed that there are enough lifeguards and that they are ready for the start of the season.
"My sincere recommendation and appeal is not to swim in Ada Cigalnia, not to go in the water at this time. Some pools are eager to open their doors, take advantage of this heat wave and announce the start of the season this weekend, check on social networks for additional information," added Kerkez.
Meteorologists have forecast high temperatures, but don't be tempted to cool off in the rivers and the lakes this weekend - wait for the official green light and the start of the season.
