11 wildfires currently active around the country, Serbian MUP issues instructions: Never do this

The Serbian MUP (Interior Ministry) today announced that 11 active fires had been burning in the territory of Serbia, as of 08:00 this morning.
The wildfires are reported in the territories of Uzice, Bor, Kraljevo, Kragujevac, Nis, and Vranje.
Djordje Radulovic, an inspector with the Fire and Rescue Unit from MUP's Emergency Situations Sector, also said that a fire that had broken out on the Stolovi Mountain near Kraljevo has been localized.
"Given that we are facing a period of very hot and dry weather that favors the spreading of fires in open spaces, we appeal on our fellow citizens not to burn waste material from the harvest, grass and low vegetation, not to light fires in the woods, or closer than 200 meters from the edge of a forest," said Radulovic.
He warned that the Fire Protection Law prohibits these acts.
"Non-compliance with these provisions results in fines raging from 10,000 to 50,000 dinars for individuals, and from 300,000 to one million dinars for legal entities," specified Radulovic.
He recalled that more than 3,800 wildfires were registered in Serbia in July - 628 in just one day, on July 7.
"To extinguish them, firefighters-rescuers were assisted by members of the Helicopter Unit, members of volunteer fire brigades, police officers, as well as citizens," said Radulovic.
The inspector stressed that in the coming period, the Emergency Situations Sector, with the help of others in the Ministry and inspection services at the national and local levels, will strengthen supervision on the ground and sanction all those who fail to comply with the law.
