President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is meeting today in Belgrade with European Union's special representative for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Peter Sorensen, the presidential press service has announced.

The meeting will start at 10:00 in the building of the General Secretariat of the President of the Republic.

The meeting is being held at a time when the Central Election Commission in Pristina tried to ban the participation of the Serb List in the local elections in Kosovo and Metohija on October 12, while the electoral panel for appeals and petitions then accepted the appeal lodged by the Serb List and asked the commission to certify the list of candidates of that party.

Vucic and Sorensen met for the first time on March 25 in Belgrade, when Vucic informed him about the problems faced by the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija due to numerous escalating, unilateral and violent moves made by Priština, and reiterated that the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO), after 12 years of Pristina's refusal to fulfill this obligation from the Brussels agreement, is a prerequisite for the start of essential normalization of relations.

Vucic and Sorensen also met on June 13 in Prague, as part of the Global Security Forum GLOBSEC 2025, and Vucic at the time stated that Serbia is fully committed to finding compromise solutions through dialogue and reiterated that it is crucial for the dialogue to return to the basics, such as the formation of the ZSO.

Sorensen took over the duties of EU's special representative for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina on February 1 from Miroslav Lajcak, and ha since visited Pristina several times, the last time in early August.
