Ruling SNS party leader and presidential adviser Milos Vucevic said, while appearing on TV Happy today, that according to opinion polls, the SNS enjoys stronger support that ever, while that the date of elections should be a political decision.

"For us, this is important data, but you cannot live only on statistical data. There is still room to organize some things better. The party stands with the president of the republic. Whether it's about local or parliamentary elections, it doesn't matter, they will happen when the time is right. In the fall, we have to go to elections in two local units, Mionica and Negotin. Those who dispute the polls without a single argument will be able to check where they stand. We are satisfied," Vucevic said, adding:

"There is a large part of people in the 'blockader corps' who do not understand what we are talking about. It's not a question of public opinion polls, but whether those elections would lead to stabilization of the state or bring the possibility of even greater chaos. I am afraid that the blockaders wouldn't even be interested in any polls. At 20:05 (i.e., immediately after polling stations close) on (election) day they would say the vote was rigged. (There has been) a whole arsenal of disgusting messages and threats, and they want elections. Elections are a political decision and must lead to stabilization. The blockaders do not understand that or they pretend not to."

Last weekend, Vucevic recalled, 105,000 people opposed to anti-government protests marched in 100 places in Serbia.

"That is not a question of the SNS. This is the response of the citizens of Serbia to everything that has happened. This gives us hope for the salvation of the country. In one day, over 100,000 people marched, without a single incident. People just said that they are fighting against the blockades, that they want to a return to safety and stability. People want to see the state function normally, for it to be what it should be. I believe that on Sunday, September 7, we will have an even bigger gathering, in 120 towns," said Vucevic.
