Severe hailstorm hits the town of Ub in western Serbia! Heavy rain paralyzes traffic in the region

A big storm accompanied by heavy rain and hail swept through the Kolubara District in western Serbia this afternoon. Judging by the videos posted online, the hailstorm was particularly strong in the municipality of Ub.

Posts on the Instagram page 192_rs show that so much hail fell this Wednesday that some parts of that area of Serbia looked as if they were covered by December snow.

On the other hand, the rain was so heavy that drivers reported experiencing it as a "water curtain" in front of their vehicles.

One video shows a man taking fistfuls of hailstones right in front of his house.

The storm this afternoon affected the wider area of Ub, and citizens are reporting that the downpour and strong wind was accompanied by hail in several intervals.

After the Kolubara District, the storm moved northeast to affect the Belgrade region.
