President Aleksandar Vucic responds to provocations: "There are those who hate their own country"
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has published a post on Instagram regarding provocative statements coming from his political opponents, that he is a "second-rate partner to Chinese leader Xi Jinping".
"There are people who hate their country, for whom everything else is sweeter and more beautiful. I know who I represent. The most holy thing in the world. That is my Serbia," Aleksandar Vucic said.
He then spoke about those capable of hating their own country.
"Why do they do that? Because they can't understand that, as ingenious as they are, though they have never achieved anything in life, they are not needed to the extent they thought they were for Serbia to move forward. Because don't forget that they tell me from time to time that Putin doesn't value me. Is that so?," Vucic asked, and added:
"And to to who else did Putin present such a high order (St. Aleksandr Nevsky) in our country, besides me? Did he give it to Tadic? Did he give it to Djilas? Did he give it to one of the 'blockaders'? Did he give it to anyone else? He only gave it to me. 104 or 105 years after it was awarded to (Serbian and Yugoslav Kingdom Prime Minister) Nikola Pasic."
"But they know better than I do what Putin thinks about me and they know better than Putin what Putin thinks about me. The same goes for Xi Jinping. Xi Jinping can come to Serbia, and that's the European country that pleases him the most (to visit). It's an honor for a lifetime. I know what I represent. The most holy of all things in the world," the president concluded.
