Petkovic: Military alliance between so-called Kosovo Security Force and Albanian army direct threat to Serbs

The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, says that a military alliance of the so-called Kosovo Security Force (KSF) and Albania's army, the formation of which was announced by Albin Kurti, is a direct threat to Serbia and the Serb people.

"It is the axis of the Pristina regime's policy, which takes aim at Belgrade with its every move, and a new step towards the formation of the so-called Greater Albania," Petkovic added in the statement.

According to him, these armed formations and the saber- rattling by Pristina are happening in front of the entire international community, which did not react to any military alliance that Pristina formed with Croatia and Albania, who are NATO members.

Petkovic also stated that these alliances have the goal of destabilizing the situation on the ground and of once again turning the Balkan region into a new powder keg.

"Clearly Kurti is allowed to do anything, including to, at the time of the world's greatest challenges to preserve peace, have Pristina threaten with conflicts by creating alliances that are not aimed towards calming tensions, but escalating the situation on the ground," Petkovic pointed out.

The director of the Government Office also recalled that it is known that according to UN Security Council Resolution 1244 the only military formation allowed in Kosovo and Metohija is KFOR.

According to Petkovic, any military alliance and militarization of the so-called Kosovo Security Force is a violation of Resolution 1244 and an attempt to create a new KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army"), whose activities are banned.

"Despite all the threats and war dreams of Albin Kurti, Belgrade, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, will continue to safeguard peace and the Serb people, to behave in a responsible manner, insisting on respecting Resolution 1244, insisting that this document be respected in its full capacity," stated Petkovic.
