Car and truck involved in horror collision near Vladimirci: Traffic accident results in deaths

A serious traffic accident happened this morning around 06:00 near Vladimirci.

According to unofficial information, it was a direct collision between a car and a truck in which one person was killed.

The investigation is ongoing.

Traffic police make appeal

During last week 714 traffic accidents happened in Serbia, resulting in the deaths of 13 people, while a further 368 were injured, the Traffic Police Administration (USP) has told Telegraf.rs.

"We would like to point out the fact that on Sunday in Belgrade, in the early hours of the morning, there was a traffic accident involving two young drivers aged 20 and 22, one of whom had a probationary driver's license, and 1.52 permilles of blood alcohol content. In this traffic accident, 10 people were injured, 6 of whom with life-threatening serious bodily wounds. Please note that all participants were young, and the youngest was 18 years old," USP told Telegraf.rs.

"That is why we are making an appeal to young drivers, especially those with probationary driver's licenses, not to drive between 23:00. and 06:00, not to consume alcohol and drugs, not to speed...," USP representatives stressed.

In order to improve traffic safety, increased traffic control is planned today in the territory of Pancevo, Zrenjanin, Sremska Mitrovica, Sabac and Belgrade, where, in addition to all available devices, police officers and interceptors will be deployed.

"From the Traffic Police Administration, we wish you a good day and safety in traffic," said USP.
