Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric will today participate in a regular session of the United Nations Security Council in New York, where the new report of the Secretary-General Antonio Guterres about the work of UNMIK (UN Mission in Kosovo and Metohija) covering the period from March to September will be discussed.

The head of Serbian diplomacy will, among other things, stress the importance of the presence of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo and Metohija for the sake of preserving peace, stability and security in the province, as well as the necessity of continuing to fulfill the mandate of the mission in line with Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

The beginning of the session is scheduled for 16:00 Serbian time and will be streamed live at "https://webtv.un.org/en".

The session was scheduled by Russia, which took over the rotating one-month presidency of the UN Security Council on October 1.

The previous meeting of the UN Security Council that discussed Guterres' six-month report about UNMIK was held on April 8.
