"Operation Foreigner" ongoing in Montenegro: Police carried out 117 interventions yesterday alone
The police in Montenegro, as part of the operational-tactical Operation Foreigner that is being carried out in the territory of the entire country, took 117 measures to check the legality of movement, residence and employment of foreign citizens in Montenegro.
"As part of these activities, 74 misdemeanor warrants have been issued, nine decisions were made about returning persons (to their countries), three forced removals were carried out, and three persons were expelled from the country," stated the police.
The permission to stay concerning 23 foreign citizens was cancelled, the termination of temporary stay was initiated for four persons, and one misdemeanor complaint was filed.
"From the beginning of 2025, until today, as part of Operation Foreigner, 8,554 misdemeanor complaints and warrants have been issued, 1,304 decisions were made about the return of persons, 165 persons were forcibly removed, while 144 foreign citizens were expelled from Montenegro. The residence of 1,549 persons was canceled, while the termination of temporary residence was initiated for 1,291 persons," the statement added.
The border police sector will, as part of the implementation of measures to raise the level of security and improve control of the presence of foreign citizens, continue to carry out intensified activities every day - "in order to protect security interests of the state, and to ensure the legality of residence and employment of foreigners in Montenegro."
