PM Macut: Full-fledged membership in EU and preservation of state and national interests Serbia's clear goal
Prime Minister of Serbia Djuro Macut said on Wednesday, at the opening of the Euronews Adria Summit conference in Belgrade, that full-fledged membership in the European Union and preservation of state and national interests is a clear state goal.
This above all means fighting to preserve Kosovo and Metohija within Serbia, which means looking for allies around the world, Macut stressed.
In this sense Serbia cannot give up on its traditional friendships with the countries from the Non-Aligned bloc, which are on the rise and with which there are so many ways to expand cooperation.
"Our job is to provide our economy with new markets and that is why my goal, as prime minister, is to devote myself to further improving relations with the countries with which we nurture traditional friendships," Macut said, according to a statement from his cabinet.
He underlined the huge potential of our country in the IT sector, high technologies, defense industry and other important branches of the economy.
Macut also pointed to the incredible economic rise of Africa, stating that that continent has the youngest population and that the future rests on the youth, while Central and Southeast Asia are today the hub of high technologies without which the modern world is unimaginable.
It is certainly necessary, the prime minister said, to continue improving relations with the United States, the Russian Federation, and the People's Republic of China, which are already at a high level.
