Delegation of Jordanian Parliament visited Serbia: Focus on infrastructure and strengthening economic ties
This week, Serbia hosted a high-level delegation from the Jordanian parliament, which held a series of meetings with Serbian officials and relevant institutions during a working visit.
The key goal of the visit was for the guests to familiarize themselves with the operational model through which Serbia has built a new generation of traffic and utility infrastructure in a relatively short period of time - including highways, tunnels, railway corridors and capital urban development projects.
The Jordanian parliamentarians showed a special interest in the planning processes, financial arrangements and project management mechanisms, while expert teams from Serbia presented a methodology that allowed for a strong acceleration in implementing investments.
A focus of the conversations was the initiative to establish flights between Belgrade and Amman, which in the next phase could become a key for intensified economic flows, improving business contacts and increasing the number of tourists in both countries.
It was assessed that a direct traffic connection would generate additional value for companies from the trade, logistics, hotel and creative industries sectors.
During their stay in Serbia, the Jordanian delegation visited several strategic projects - the EXPO locations, the new railway junction in Belgrade, and Belgrade Waterfront, where they attended a presentation of public-private partnership and integrated urban development models.
The visit was assessed as a strong signal of mutual interest to, going forward, improve bilateral relations and lay the foundations for greater institutional and economic cooperation.
