President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met today with Chairman of Italy's Chamber of Deputies' EU Affairs Committee Alessandro Giglio Vigna, and his delegation.

During the conversation Vucic pointed out that the help and support from the friendly Italy on the way toward EU membership is extremely important for Serbia.

In a post on Instagram, Vucic stated that the meeting with Giglio Vigna was cordial and good and that talks with partners from the EU, such as Italy, are of great importance in order to exchange experiences and concrete solutions that accelerate Serbia's integration, especially considering that Italy was the first EU member country that Serbia established strategic cooperation with.

The president stated that he stressed Italy is also one of the most important economic partners of Serbia and that he used this opportunity to exchange opinions regarding additional improvement of bilateral relations, with a focus on economic projects, investments and cooperation that brings concrete results for our citizens.

"With gratitude for Italy's consistent support for our EU path, I pointed out that Serbia remains committed to progressing towards full membership, while preserving its national interests and stability, as well as that the help and support from the friendly Italy in these efforts is extremely important to us," Vucic concluded.
