The Police Directorate of Montenegro has announced that citizens have voluntarily surrendered 4,100 pieces of weapons and 131,000 pieces of ammunition since the beginning of this year.

This happened during a campaign dubbed, "Respect Life, Return Weapons".

In addition, 440 hand grenades have been surrendered to the police, as well as hundreds of weapon parts and mines and explosive devices.

The police in Montenegro once again informed citizens they can call 122 in order to inform officers that they want to turn in a weapon in their possession, after which the police collect it at the place where the person and the weapon are located, at the same time issuing a certificate of collection.

"It is important to note that citizens should not bring weapons to police stations themselves, primarily for safety reasons," the Police Administration of Montenegro announced in a post on X.
