President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today officially opened the Vrba Loop on the Morava Corridor, which launched traffic on a new section of the highway between Vrnjacka Banja and Vrba, which is almost 14 kilometers long.
This is one of the key parts of the future highway that will connect Pojate and Preljina and significantly improve traffic connectivity in central and western Serbia.
Vucic pointed out that the Morava Corridor is the widest and one of the most modern highways in Serbia, designed for speeds of up to 130 kilometers per hour, with a higher level of safety and comfort.
He stressed that this road is of great importance for the economy, tourism and people's everyday lives, especially for the area of the towns of Kraljevo, Vrnjacka Banja and Cacak.
With the opening of the Vrba Loop, a total of more than 70 kilometers of the Morava Corridor are now open to traffic, while the completion of the entire route, approximately 112 kilometers long, is expected in 2026. New bridges, access roads and an intersection were built on this section of the highway, while toll collection has also started.
The president said that the state will continue with significant investments in infrastructure, assessing that roads are the foundation of Serbia's economic growth and development.
