The body of a 30-year-old Swiss man was found on Sunday in an apartment in the Belgrade neighborhood of Kaludjerica, Telegraf.rs has learned.

The body was found by the police in an apartment where the man was staying with his girlfriend. According to initial unofficial information, the scene encountered by investigators indicates the possibility of an overdose, given that several packages of narcotics were found on the table in the immediate vicinity of the body.

No signs of violence

Although an on-duty team wass immediately dispatched to the scene, the doctors could only pronounce the Swiss citizen dead. The investigation so far has found no visible injuries on the body of the deceased.

"By order of the competent prosecutor's office, the body was urgently transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, which will determine the exact cause of death," says a source close to the investigation.

Ongoing investigation

The police interviewed the family and neighbors, and a detailed investigation into the origin of the drugs found at the scene and the circumstances leading up to the death is underway.

The results of the toxicology report will be crucial for the further course of the investigation.
