Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic has sent a strong message on the occasion of the day of the Serb Republic (RS).

Dacic emphasized the unbreakable bond between the people on both sides of the Drina River - i.e., in Serbia and in the RS, the Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In a post on Instagram, Dacic expressed his sincere congratulations to the citizens of the RS, reminding them of the importance of this date.

"RS is an unquestionable fact"

He pointed out that January 9 is a symbol of the survival and pride of the Serb nation.

"RS Day is one of the most important dates for the Serb people and a strong symbol of unity and perseverance in preserving identity, tradition and national dignity. The RS is a permanent and unquestionable fact, based in the Dayton Peace Agreement," wrote Dacic.

Unity above all divisions

The minister stressed that in difficult times there must be no place for internal conflicts, but that the focus must be on peace and stability.

Only united and oriented towards peace can we preserve what has been created with great sacrifice and sense of responsibility. Serb unity on both sides of the Drina must be above all divisions, because that is the greatest strength in challenging times - he stated.

"Serbia stands firmly with the RS, not only politically, but also in a brotherly way, as support in preserving peace, stability and national identity," Dacic wrote.
