FIRST PHOTOS FROM CRASH SITE ON SMEDEREVO ROAD: Only crumpled wreckage remained of Peugeot, driver is DEAD

A Telegraf crew has arrived at the scene of a terrible traffic accident that happened this morning near Bolec on the Smederevo Road.

What we encountered were gruesome scenes. The Peugeot was completely crushed, luggage from the bus was scattered in all directions, as well as car and bus parts. Broken glass and strewn items lay on the road.

Telegraf.rs has learned that, N.S. (46) lost his life tragically in a direct collision between his passenger car and a Lasta bus.

"The driver is not showing signs of life" - the first call to the police was chilling. An unknown woman, a witness of this blood-curdling moment, reported in a trembling voice that a direct collision had occurred near a PKB plantation. The sentence that followed, "The driver in the car is not moving", triggered an emergency action by the police from Grocka and the emergency team from Kaludjerica. Unfortunately, there was no was to way to save N.S.

Emergency Center full after accident

While the police were trying to secure the scene, ambulance crews were treating the survivors who were leaving the bus in a state of shock. The driver of the bus, M.L. (54), was urgently transported to the Emergency Center, along with seven passengers who felt the force of the impact that turned the Peugeot into a pile of iron.

The following passengers were injured: V.P. (62), A.L. (24) and K.M. (22). Three women were also injured: A.S. (48), S.Z. (44) and I.P. (43). At the scene, in addition to the damaged vehicles, car parts can be seen scattered all over the road. The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of the prosecutor from the Second Basic Public Prosecutor's Office, while the traffic policemen are trying to control the kilometer-long lines of vehicles.

Smederevo Road is completely closed for traffic. Traffic is at a complete standstill, and the scenes of the crushed Peugeot testify to the fact that the driver did not have a chance to survive this direct collision.
