HORRIFIC SCENES ON IBAR HIGHWAY: Two dead, WOMAN AND CHILD INJURED, car crushed in collision with truck

The Ibar Highway has once again been the scene of a fatal traffic accident. This time it happened around 7 o'clock on Friday near Vreoci, in the immediate vicinity of the Radicevic restaurant.

Two people died in a direct collision between a passenger car and a truck, while a woman and a 9-year-old child were seriously injured and urgently transported to Belgrade.

It is still unclear how the accident occurred. The force of the impact was so great that the passenger car was almost completely destroyed. In addition to several ambulance crews, firefighters and rescuers were also sent to the scene, as they had to cut through the metal to reach the victims.

Two people traveling in the car were pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman and the child were immediately taken to medical institutions in Belgrade in ambulances accompanied by the police.

According to unofficial information, both have serious, life-threatening injuries.

Because of the ongoing investigation traffic close to the restaurant has ben completely halted and is being redirected to alternative routes.

Kilometer-long lines of vehicles formed this morning on this stretch of the Ibar Highway, in both directions.

The investigation is led by the prosecutor's office with jurisdiction in this case, which will determine the exact cause of the horrific accident.

Officials are appealing on all drivers traveling along this section to exercise maximum caution and patience, or, if possible, avoid it completely until the damaged vehicles have been removed from the road.
