FM Marko Djuric: Serbia stands in full solidarity with United Arab Emirates
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric on Monday spoke with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, regarding Iran's attack on that country and said that Serbia stands in solidarity with the UAE.
In a post on X, Djuric stated that Serbia "unequivocally supports UAE's inherent right to defend itself and to take all necessary and proportionate measures in response to these unlawful attacks, in accordance with international law."
"I conveyed Serbia's strongest condemnation of these unlawful and unacceptable attacks against our strategic partner and friendly nation, the UAE. Such acts undermine regional stability and threaten international peace and security. Serbia stands in full and unwavering solidarity with the United Arab Emirates," Djuric wrote.
He added that during the conversation, he "expressed his sincere gratitude to His Highness and to the Government of the United Arab Emirates, as well as to the UAE Armed Forces, for their swift, responsible, and effective actions which have ensured the safety and security of approximately 6,800 Serbian citizens residing in the UAE."
"Thanks to their professionalism and preparedness, our citizens feel safe and protected. Serbia and the Serbian people stand shoulder to shoulder with the leadership and the people of the United Arab Emirates at this challenging time," Djuric concluded.
