Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric said today that the state has strategic reserves of aviation fuel and that regardless of the disturbances that may occur on the global market, the functioning of the Nikola Tesla Belgrade Airport will not be endangered.

"We have strategic reserves when it comes to aviation fuel. Therefore, whatever kind of global disturbances may occur, we will ensure that the Belgrade Airport operates as usual. At the same time, I don't have to explain that kerosene is not easy to produce either, and that it is a more expensive and refined fuel," Djuric told Prva TV.

"What is important to us is that Serbia has not only secured reserves, but it continues to develop its energy security through new gas and oil pipelines. I will remind you that in previous years we also built new natural gas storage facilities in Hungary. Today, we have enough stored natural gas that we are not threatened by disruptions when it comes to heating or supplying the industry, even though the war is raging in the east of Europe," said Djuric.

The minister stressed that Serbia enjoys a favorable energy situation because of the policy of "taking care of people and the state, which created the preconditions for continued economic development and maintaining stability."

"We managed to create prerequisites for our most important core national interests, which is continuation of economic development and maintaining stability. And those are our priorities this year as well," said Djuric.
