SCENE OF HORROR NEAR BELGRADE: Two teenagers died here, parts of crushed car scattered all over the road

Two 19-year-olds lost their lives in a serious traffic accident that happened last night in Busije, near Ugrinovci, on the outskirts of Belgrade.

The tragedy occurred at 9:59 pm when a Peugeot they were traveling in drove off the road and hit a small concrete bridge at the entrance to a yard.

Another 19-year-old was in the vehicle. She suffered serious, life threatening injuries.

Investigation lasted for hours

Reporters at the scene in Zemunska Street recorded shocking scenes - parts of the crushed car were scattered across the road and next to a canal, testifying to the force of the impact. According to the locals who happened to be nearby, the scene was horrific, and the investigation by the police and competent services lasted until late at night.

"It was horrible. The police kept the place secured for hours, everyone was in disbelief that such young lives were extinguished," said one of the residents of this settlement.

Bodies sent for autopsy

By order of the prosecutor, the bodies of victims were transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for autopsies. The investigation is ongoing and should determine the exact reason the driver lost control of the vehicle, that led to this tragedy.

Traffic in this part of the settlement was interrupted for several hours last night during the police investigation.
