Ministers Popovic and Reshetnikov honor Russian soldiers fallen in Serbia during First World War
Nenad Popovic, Serbian minister without portfolio in charge of international economic cooperation and the position of the Church in the country and abroad, and the minister of economic development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov - who is on an official visit to Belgrade - today laid wreaths at the Russian Necropolis located in the New Cemetary, in honor of the Russian soldiers who died in Serbia during the First World War.
A wreath was also laid by Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandr Botsan Kharchenko. The trade representative of the Russian Federation Irina Negrebetska, members of Minister Reshetnikov's delegation and representatives of the Russian Embassy laid wreaths at the Monument of Russian Glory in Belgrade.
The wreath Minister Popovic laid had the words, "To Heroic Allies and Brothers" written on it. In front of the memorial complex near the Monument of Russian Glory, a memorial service was also held for the fallen soldiers, and led by the head of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev.
The Russian delegation, together with Minister Popovic and Ambassador Botsan Kharchenko, earlier in the day also laid wreaths at the monument dedicated to the Red Army, located in the Cemetery of the Liberators of Belgrade in 1944.
Reshetnikov is on an official visit to Belgrade, and this morning met with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.
