TRAGEDY IN CENTRAL BELGRADE: Body of woman found in ventilation duct

The body of an unnamed woman was found today around 12:30 in the ventilation opening of a residential building in Vracar, in central Belgrade, Telegraf.rs has learned.

The tragedy happened at the corner of Vojislava Ilica and Zicka streets. According to initial information, it is suspected that the unfortunate woman fell into this opening a few days ago, when she went missing.

After receiving a report that a person had fallen into the opening, the emergency services began searching the area. Shortly after noon today, the body was located in the ventilation system of the building, which is easily accessible from the street in this location.

The doctors could only pronounce the woman dead.

Police at the scene, investigation underway

Police officers are currently investigating the scene of the accident. The identity of the victim has not yet been officially confirmed, nor the exact circumstances under which she fell into the deep vent.

The body will be transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for autopsy.
