One person was killed in a horrific multi-vehicle crash that happened early this morning in Kragujevac, and the imagery from the scene has shocked the investigators.

The morning in Kragujevac was marked by tragedy. The accident happened around 06:30 and involved three passenger cars, and the outcome was fatal for one person, while several others got injured and were rushed to the hospital.

Damaged vehicles and glass on the road

Photos and videos from the scene testify to the incredible force of the impact. The road was covered in broken glass, debris from the cars and spilled fuel, while those who happened to be at the scene experienced shock.

One of the vehicles involved was "hurled" onto the fence of a family home, where it remained completely wrecked.

"The accident was terrible, there was a loud bang. Three vehicles collided, and the scene was horrific. One person was dead on the spot, while the others, who were conscious, were immediately transported by medical teams. We don't yet know what condition they are in," one of the visibly shaken eyewitnesses told RINA.

Ongoing investigation

Ambulance crews responded in the shortest possible time, and the police immediately blocked this part of the road in order to carry out an investigation. Doctors are currently treating the casualties, but the degree of their injuries has not yet been officially revealed.

The police investigation will determine all the circumstances that led to this accident - whether it was speeding, slippery road surface, or another factor. Traffic on this section was suspended, as parts of destroyed cars lay scattered around.
