Belgrade police chief Veselin Milic has been arrested
As part of an investigation to shed light on the circumstances under which Aleksandar Nesovic Baja disappeared on May 12, 2026, the head of the Police Department for the City of Belgrade, V.M., has been arrested.
This was ordered by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, and carried out by members of the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP), the Crime Suppression Service and the Service for the Fight against Organized Crime of the Interior Ministry (MUP) of the Republic of Serbia.
The person identified by his initials in the official statement is Belgrade police chief Veselin Milic.
The statement aded that V.M. will spend up to 48 hours in police custody before he is brought before a prosecutor.
Milic is suspected of committing the criminal acts of failure to report a criminal act and a perpetrator, and of aiding a perpetrator after the commission of a criminal act.
