New investments coming to Serbia: After a billion euros, Linglong announces another 500 million!

Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut visited the Linglong plant in Zrenjanin on Thursday, where he met with the management to discuss further development of the factorz, new investments, employment, and opportunities for improving cooperation in the field of education and research.

After the meeting, Macut assessed that Linglong is one of the most significant examples of Chinese investments in Serbia and added that it is a large industrial enterprise that has grown into one of the economic giants in less than a decade.

"This is a good indicator of how, together with our great traditional friends, we can achieve great results and develop an industry that today represents one of the carriers of the economic development of this part of the Banat region, as well as the whole of Serbia," said Macut.

He stated that around one billion euros have been invested in the factory so far, and that the second phase of development worth more than 500 million euros, which should create new jobs, has been announced during the meeting.

According to the prime minister, they also discussed the possibilities of expanding the dual education program, as well as the need to establish a development institute that would contribute to raising the technological level of production.

Macut pointed out that Linglong invests in quality, safety and modern production processes, and is an example of green transition and responsible attitude towards the environment.

Chairman and President of Linglong Tire Wang Feng thanked the Government of Serbia for its support and pointed out that the company currently employs around 2,100 local workers, who undergo training and have the possibility of professional advancement in various roles.

According to him, the company is approaching the beginning of the second phase of the development of the factory in Serbia, and the priorities in the coming period are employee development, green production, process automation and environmental protection.

After the meeting with the company's management, Macut visited the Linglong production facility in Zrenjanin.

The delegation of the Government of Serbia included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic, Minister of Environmental Protection Sara Pavkov, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarevic, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijevic.
