FALL OF "THE KING OF FAKES": Novi Sad man arrested in possession of 17,000 pieces of fake designer clothing!

By order of the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Criminal Police Directorate, the Economic Crime Suppression Department of the Crime Suppression Service, in cooperation with the Police Administration in Novi Sad - members of the Sector for Controlling the Application of Customs Regulations of the Customs Administration and the Republic Market Inspection - arrested A.M. (53) from Novi Sad.

A.M. is suspected of committing the criminal offense of unauthorized use of another's business name and other special marks of goods or services.

During the search of the apartment and other premises in several locations used by the suspect, 17,200 pieces of clothing, stickers, labels and transfer foils with counterfeit marks and trademarks of well-known global brands were found and confiscated.

It is suspected that A.M. used the protected signs and trademarks of well-known brands without authorization, thereby causing material damage to the holders of intellectual property rights. The suspect is being detained by the police for up to 48 hours and will then be brought before the prosecutor along with a criminal complaint.
