Just a few weeks after Police Colonel Vladan Stojanovic took command of the Novi Sad Police Administration, radical personnel changes within the Interior Ministry (MUP) resulted in a historic seizure of more than 107 kilograms of drugs, Telegraf.rs has learned.

In a strictly undercover operation carried in the territory of the northern province of Vojvodina, the police discovered an illegal facility and seized as much as 46.3 kilograms of amphetamines, 61 kilograms of marijuana, 10 kilograms of creatine, a complete set of production equipment, as well as more than 17,000 euros in cash, in this way fully neutralizing a dangerous distribution network.

The new organizational structure, increased control and reassignment of personnel resulted in locating and completely neutralizing the facility that served as a base for storing, mixing and repacking narcotics in Lukaceva Street in Novi Karlovci.

Z.G. and B.J. were arrested in this coordinated operation. Both suspects are residents of the Belgrade municipality of Zemun. They are charged with complicity in the criminal offense of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs.

Machines, scales and foreign currency

How serious this criminal group was is best evidenced by the results of the search of the premises. Police officers, under direct command of the chief, found and confiscated:

46.3 kilograms of amphetamines, 61 kilograms of marijuana, 10 kilograms of creatine (a substance used to increase the mass of narcotics).

That this was a serious illegal operation is also confirmed by the fact the police found a complete set of equipment for production and preparation of amphetamines, four scales for precise measurement, mobile phones, keys to the facility, as well as money suspected to have been obtained through criminal activities - in the amount of 17,400 euros and 15,000 dinars.

Colonel Stojanovic's new operational approach

Colonel Vladan Stojanovic taking over as head of the Novi Sad police completely changed the rules of the game in the territory of this police administration. Stojanovic, who previously successfully managed the Department for Suppression of Organized Drug Trafficking with the SBPOK, immediately established strict professional standards.

According to information from the investigation, the outflow of operational data has been completely eliminated, operations are planned in the narrowest circle of authorized persons under a clear chain of command, and an unequivocal message of zero tolerance has been sent to criminal groups.

Suspects detained

The suspects will spend up to 48 hours in police custody. After that, they will be brought before the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office along with a criminal complaint.
