Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed today that Moscow and Belgrade are discussing the sale of the Russian stake in Petroleum Industry of Serbia, NIS -nd that they are focused on commercial issues.

Peskov stated that the content of those talks is not public, TASS is reporting.

"There have been contacts, including contacts with the Serbs, with Serbian interlocutors," said Peskov, when asked whether there have been discussions about the sale of shares in the company, and whether that process has stopped.

The US Treasury Department's Office for Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has extended Hungarian MOL's license to negotiate the purchase of the Russian stake in NIS until July 1.

OFAC has also extended the operating license of NIS until July 1.

This license allows NIS to continue working, i.e. processing crude oil.

Previous licenses - operational and for the purpose of acquisition negotiations, were valid until June 16.
