President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic last night attended a gala dinner organized by French President Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of the French national holiday, which gathered heads of state and government.

"In Paris, on the eve of the celebration of the National Day of France and Bastille Day, which symbolizes the values of freedom, equality and community, I had the opportunity to talk with numerous European and world leaders about the most important challenges we are facing today," he stated in a post on Instagram, and added:

"France is one of the most important partners of Serbia and I am convinced that we will continue to build relations based on mutual trust, respect and common interests. In times of complex international circumstances, dialogue, cooperation and understanding remain the most important way to preserve peace, stability and prosperity.

It is of crucial importance for our country to be present where the future of Europe and the world is being discussed and to consistently protect its state and national interests."

A large military parade will be held in Paris today, with Aleksandar Vucic in attendance.

This is the first time that a Serbian president has received an invitation to attend the military parade on the occasion of France's national day.

Vucic will represent the only country that is neither a member of NATO nor the EU, nor of "the Coalition of the Willing".
