Brnabic: Partnership with America and Israel is entering new phase! Here is what it means for Serbia
An international conference entitled,"Partners in a Changing World: Central and Eastern Europe, America, Israel and the New Middle East" was held in the Serbian National Assembly, whose president, Ana Brnabic, said that Serbia highly values the strategic relationship with the United States of America, pointing out that the upcoming launch of a strategic dialogue with Washington is one of the most important achievements for our country in the last few decades.
During the gathering, which was organized by the Serbian-American Friendship Congress, Brnabic also referred to relations with Israel, stressing that Serbia deeply values the partnership with this country. She stated that the friendship between the two nations rests on mutual respect, historical suffering and a sincere willingness to understand and support each other in difficult times.
She recalled her visit to Israel last year came at a very challenging moment, which further strengthened her belief in the necessity of direct dialogue.
Speaking about global circumstances, the president of the Assembly assessed that the "international landscape" is changing faster than could have been imagined just a few years ago, and that uncertainty has become a key feature.
"In such times, countries naturally look for reliable partners. However, such partnerships do not appear overnight and are not created only when circumstances require it, but are patiently built over years and decades - through dialogue, consistency and mutual trust that partners will remain constructive even in difficult moments," Brnabic said.
Brnabic said that the value of today's conference lies in the gathering of people who believe that dialogue is the strongest foundation for lasting cooperation, adding that there is no more appropriate place for such a discussion than the Assembly itself.
"Throughout history, parliaments have been places where societies face difficult issues through debate, not through confrontation; through dialogue, not through division," she said.
At the end of her address, Brnabic concluded that in today's world, parliamentary diplomacy far exceeds a mere addition to traditional diplomacy, becoming an irreplaceable channel for building trust and creating lasting institutional ties in increasingly challenging international circumstances.
In the introductory part of the conference today, KSAP President Vladimir Marinkovic and Vice President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Ivan Bosnjak addressed the audience.
President of the Serbian-American Friendship Congress (Serbian initials: KSAP) Vladimir Marinkovic said today that there is nothing more natural and logical than for Serbia, Israel and the US to be allies and strategic partners, because throughout history they have shared the same values, and stated that in the changed geopolitical circumstances, Serbia wants to be a bridge between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Israel and the US.
"There was no better moment for this conference to happen. I would like to thank our friends from the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee for their great support and trust, as well as the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia for all the support of the business community, for the development of our economic cooperation, which further motivates political cooperation and military cooperation and joint affairs and arrangements between Serbia, Israel and America," Marinkovic said at the meeting organized by KSAP.
He stated that today's conference is dedicated to cooperation in the field of security, new technologies, information technologies, innovations, as well as the culture of memory and the joint struggle of the three states and peoples against historical revisionism.
Vice President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Ivan Bosnjak said today that the US and Israel are very important political, economic and strategic partners to Serbia and stated that relations with these countries are developing through continuous dialogue, mutual understanding and increasingly intensive cooperation.
Bosnjak said that the international conference "Partners in a Changing World: Central and Eastern Europe, America, Israel and the New Middle East", which is being held in the Aseembly of Serbia, is taking place in complex geopolitical circumstances, as building stable relations based on trust is important for Serbia's international positioning and its connection with global partners.
"For Serbia, it's important that good political cooperation and established partnerships with the US and Israel are additionally strengthened through concrete economic and business projects. This is precisely why the economic sector plays a key role in turning political trust into new investments, knowledge exchange, development of innovations and strengthening of the capacities of domestic companies", Bosnjak said at the meeting organized by the Serbian-American Friendship Congress.
Today's conference brings together high-ranking Serbian state officials, as well as high-ranking officials and experts from the US, Israel, and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
