NEW BELGRADE HORROR: Man beats 82-year-old mother to death, then tries to jump from balcony!

A horrific crime that shook Serbia took place today around 14:20 in an apartment on Zorana Djindjica Boulevard in New Belgrade, where the body of 82-year-old M.C. was found, Telegraf.rs has learned.

According to information available to our portal, her son, 57-year-old Z.C,. is suspected of  murdering her.

Elderly woman beaten to death, drama on balcony

The first results of the investigation indicate that Z.C. was hitting his mother with his hands and feet on the head and body, inflicting injuries from which the victim died.

Immediately after committing the crime, the suspect went out to a balcony with the intention of committing suicide.

However, thanks to the quick and calm reaction of the police, which was the first to arrive at the scene of the incident, the man was prevented from jumping. The police overpowered and immediately handcuffed him.

Investigation

Additional MUP officers soon arrived to the apartment in New Belgrade as well as an ambulance crew that could only confirm the death of the mother. Numerous marks of brutal violence were evident on the victim's body.

The on-site investigation is led by the prosecutor from the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade together with a forensic team, while the suspect was taken to the police station.

By order of the prosecution, the body will be transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.
