Vucic: We must focus on economic progress, traditional friendships are important

The leader of the electoral list "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia", Aleksandar Vucic, said today that we must take care of the progress of our economy and added that the economy is closely linked with politics, and that is why it is important to preserve traditional friendships.

He noted that Serbia would find it difficult to have economic progress without our Chinese and Russian friends, including having access to cheaper energy.

In a video posted on Instagram, in which he showed the medals he received while serving as president from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vucic said that Serbia must focus on the economy, EXPO, and accelerated growth.

"Economy is closely related to politics; stability, peace, are extremely important, and in addition, the development and progress of economic relations. This is what brings progress to the country, it is what pushes the country forward. And that is why, in the coming period, we should focus on the economy, on EXPO, on accelerated growth of Serbia and for Serbia to overtake those countries that were ahead of us for many years, decades, and centuries," said Vucic.

He added that he was not showing the medals he received from the Russian and the Chinese leaders in order to brag, but to show the importance of traditional friendships.

"This is my small work corner in my father's house in Jajinci and I think I am showing the Order of Saint Alexander Nevsky publicly for the first time, that I received by decree of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. And this, to the pride of Serbia, is the Order of Friendship that I received from President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. And I showed you this not to brag about what no one else in our country has, but to point out the importance of preserving traditional friendships, for the sake of taking care of the progress of our economy. Without the Chinese friends, we would hardly succeed in this, without the Russian friends and cheaper energy sources, we would hardly succeed in this," said Vucic.
