Then, it did not even come to her mind that this was going to be her call.

Back in the day she dreamed about being a doctor and then suddenly, she stopped thinking about it.

She went on being a hair-dresser for men and after quitting that job, Irena Petrović (43) found her dream-job.

Lowe towards art, and an unusual one, brought her to "re-born" technique.

Today she is the only Serbian woman in the world who makes "re-born" dolls so that you cannot tell a difference between a doll and a real baby.

In 2004 Ivana left the town of Obrenovac, Serbia.

Like most of the people who go away, she decided to search for a better life.

Today, she lives in France, in the city of Gémenos.

It was enough to see one doll made through "re-born" technique and that intrigued her to stop doing portraits and start bringing artificial babies to life.

She took a shot, it paid off, and today she is one of the best, selling her dolls all around the world.

All the dolls are created in her shop "Irena Laminos doll" and they have it all: the hair like a new-born, bleary eyes, soft baby skin, baby tush, small hands...

- I started a couple of years ago with small, collection dolls I used to make out of clay. I really like doing this but it is a difficult job because you have to pay attention to many details. Even though many people buy them, the price is cheap compared to the time I invest. Then, I wanted to do something bigger, so I tried making a "re-born" doll. I bought the material and started making them. Since I saw that it was coming along nicely, I continued making these dolls. The result was gradually improving. At the beginning I was not earning much because the quality of the dolls was not good. Still, my style became much better - says Irena for Telegraf.

On our question how many dolls does she make per day, her laughter is the best answer.

To tell the truth, none.

- I make two dolls a month because I need around two weeks to make just one. Namely, I need 20 hours to color it, 40 hours to stitch, and to make a complete doll you need 80 hours of work - said this artist.

Last year, she was awarded a special prize from the English Institute for High Third Standard in "re-born" technique.

- I am very proud to have this prize because not many persons can say they have it -  said Irena.

The price range for her dolls goes between 150 up to 2.000 Euro, and the most expensive one sold was 1.250 Euro.

The customer age difference goes from 5 to 95, and little girls, women, and grandmothers from all around the world buy them.

- I have never even thought that this was going to be my occupation. I remember when I was 12 years old, I managed to stitch hair to one of my dolls and I dressed it completely. Maybe that was a sign that I possessed talent for this job - concludes Irena.

Her biggest support and the biggest critic is her grandson Laminos who is only 6 years old.
